I have wanted to create a classroom website since getting my permanent position at EHCPS. It has taken over two years for a variety of reasons, mostly my lack of knowledge about creating/ maintaining a website. However, last year as part of a classroom project to spread awareness on a global issue, two students (Sam Dvernychuk and Alyssa Lawrence) created an outstanding website to inform visitors about poverty around the world. They had never created a website before and worked through all the difficulties they encountered. This really inspired me to push my insecurities to the side and take the plunge to creating a classroom website.
My goals for this website are to improve parent communication and allow a glimpse into our classroom. You will find a calendar with all the important upcoming dates, and a variety of classroom updates. These updates will be in the form of blogs written to talk about past events or upcoming events. I hope to even have students writing these blog posts. Under classroom updates you will also find a homework page that is updated daily, and some of our bigger assignment sheets. I hope these pages allow students to stay up to date and allow guardians the opportunity to feel connected to the classroom. Finally the contact page allows guardians an opportunity to provide feedback of any sort directly to me. If there is anything that you would like to see on the site, please let me know, this is certainly a work in progress.
